Yesterday, February 3 at 17:41, a serious traffic accident happened in the intersection between Budumvej and Vilsundvej in Aalborg East. A 24-year-old driver drove into the side of another car where a 25-year-old woman was seriously injured.

According to recent information, the woman is in an induced coma, and she is in a critical state.

The 24-year-old man fled from the scene on foot but was later arrested.

Nordjylland’s Police released this information in a press release.

Looking for witnesses from before, during, and after the accident

At a preliminary examination yesterday, the driver was remanded in custody for four weeks while the accident is investigated.

“This is why we are looking for witnesses who can help us clarify what happened before, during, and after the accident,” the leader of the investigation, Police Commissioner Kenneth Rodam, explains.

He encourages people who were in the area around the time of the accident and saw something to contact the police by calling 114.

“We are especially looking for witnesses who saw the newer, white BMW that the 24-year-old was driving – especially on the stretch from Scoresbysundvej and east towards Universitetsboulevarden, and afterward, north of Bodumvej to the scene of the accident in the intersection by Vildsundvej,” the Police Commissioner says.

Contact the police by calling 114.
