A wet scare: Wine bar closes indefinitely

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

It’s not uncommon for there to be a damp atmosphere lingering in the ceiling of the city’s wine bar, Nede Paa Jorden.

Unfortunately, this atmosphere has now become a bit too literal, as owner Nikolaj Drejer arrived yesterday to find a significant water damage in the ceiling.

“It looked like a rainforest when I came down here,” he tells MyAalborg.

“Closed Due to Water Damage”

It has since been revealed that some pipes burst above the ceiling, and they now need to be repaired. Until then, the wine bar is closed indefinitely.

“A claim is being filed for the building itself, and a consultant will inspect the damages tomorrow. After that, we will hopefully know how long we need to stay closed,” Nikolaj says.

The sudden closure also means that Nikolaj has had to cancel many reservations, which he hopes will return once they reopen.

“We’ve really had a good start since we opened in October, so it’s really unfortunate that we have to put everything on hold. However, we hope that our loyal customers will be ready again when we reopen,” Nikolaj explains.

In the meantime, you can follow updates on the wine bar’s Instagram profile, Nede Paa Jorden.
