Tired of cold weather? Aalborg Airport invites you to a free travel festival

Gray skies, rain in the air, and a calendar filled with winter.
If you’re craving sun, warmth, and something to look forward to, there is good reason to head to Aalborg Airport on Sunday, January 25, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
That’s when the Aalborg Travel Festival traditionally takes place – this year in an edition that is bigger than ever.
“Aalborg Travel Festival is one of the absolute highlights of the year for us. Last year, 14,600 guests stopped by to get inspired for their next trip, and that is a record we aim to beat. We have certainly made an effort to create an even cooler travel festival this year,” says Martin Svendsen, Sales and Marketing Director at Aalborg Airport.
This year, the Aalborg Travel Festival features no fewer than 44 travel agencies and airlines gathered under one roof. This sets the stage for a day packed with holiday dreams, inspiration, and great deals.
And the best part? Admission is completely free.
Plenty of inspiration to be found
The travel festival hits the mark at a time when many of us long to escape the cold and short days.
Here you can wander from stand to stand, have informal chats with experts, and get inspired for everything from classic beach holidays and city breaks to active experiences and more exotic destinations.
The selection is enormous. You can of course learn more about well-known favorites such as Malaga, Naples, and Nice – but at the travel festival you can also discover entirely new routes from Aalborg.
Among the new additions is a direct route to one of Italy’s most atmospheric and romantic cities, Verona. Here you can travel on your own or choose one of the tailor-made trips offered by Nilles & Gislev Rejser.

If you dream of sand between your toes and azure-blue seas, you can also learn more about Cape Verde, which Spies flies directly to in April.
This winter, Apollo, Bravo Tours, and Spies are all tempting travelers with trips to the Red Sea’s holiday gem Hurghada, offering relaxing beach vacations and the chance to dive into Egypt’s fascinating past with pyramids, temples, and the treasures of the pharaohs.

Even more travel talks
The truly brilliant thing about Aalborg Travel Festival is that you also have the opportunity to really dive deep into exactly the destination you dream of visiting.
In addition to meeting the many exhibitors and getting personal guidance, you can take part in lots of free travel talks, where you can hear about magical islands, hiking holidays, safari trips, impressive cities – and MUCH more.
Some of the talks require registration. Find them all here.

Competitions, duty free, and flight simulator
Aalborg Travel Festival is much more than brochures, conversations, and good deals.
There is entertainment in store for the whole family.
There are plenty of competitions with great prizes, tastings from, among others, Thy Whisky and Karamelkompagniet, an F-16 flight simulator where you can try your hand at an authentic cockpit, and a display of a motorhome from Risskov Rejser that you can experience up close.
You do not “only” have to go home from the festival with your next dream trip.

On the occasion of the travel festival, the airport’s Duty Free shop will also open in an exceptional way. Normally, you can only shop there when you are flying.
When hunger or thirst strikes, you can buy hot dogs from the food stand, enjoy delicious open-faced sandwiches in the Gastro Pub, or perhaps treat yourself to a tasty cream bun.
How to get to and from the airport
It is easy to get to and from Aalborg Travel Festival.
You can drive and park for the first hour for free, after which it costs only 30 DKK for the rest of the day in Economy Parking.
If you prefer public transport, buses and trains also run to and from the airport at regular intervals throughout the day.
