Another top rating: Aalborg restaurant lands six-star review

We don’t have to go back many years to a time when the selection of top restaurants in Aalborg could be counted on one hand.
But since then, the city has been hit by a true gastronomic wave, with ambitious restaurateurs working hard to raise the level in the capital of North Jutland.
Last year, Aalborg was – finally – rewarded with a Michelin star when Alimentum brought the coveted honor home to the city.
The next candidate for a Michelin star could very well be located at Budolfi Plads.
We are, of course, talking about Bach & Nurup.
Here, the gastronomic power couple Nadia Bach and Christian Nurup have been at the helm since the summer of 2024 – delivering at a high level from day one, with both guests and reviewers.
A string of six-star reviews
Already in the summer of 2024, Jyllands-Posten reviewer Niels Lillelund did not hesitate to call it “Aalborg’s best restaurant,” awarding it 6 out of 6 stars.
In 2025, they were nominated for Restaurant of the Year by Den Danske Spiseguide, and in August 2025, Søren Frank followed up with 6 stars and the words: “One of the best meals I have had in Jutland to date.”
Now yet another of Denmark’s most renowned reviewers joins the list.
Ole Troelsø from Børsen has just visited Bach & Nurup, and he too awards nothing less than a perfect score of 6 out of 6 possible stars.

Significantly elevates Aalborg’s gastronomic scene
Ole Troelsø describes a consistently convincing restaurant experience, where food, wine, service, and atmosphere all come together at a high level.
He especially highlights the warm and professional service, the well-considered setting, and a wine list that combines breadth, quality, and reasonable prices relative to the level of ambition.
The kitchen is praised for technical precision, balance, and variety – ranging from elegant dishes with wagyu and halibut to classic tartare, perfectly cooked pigeon, and a strong cheese course.
According to Troelsø, Bach & Nurup succeeds in uniting Danish, French, and Asian inspirations with a clear identity and a cohesive thread throughout the entire meal.
Overall, he describes the restaurant as a place that both wants to, dares to, and is able to deliver – and one that significantly elevates Aalborg’s gastronomic scene.
