Aalborg turns pink: City unites for an important cause
Pink lights, pink cakes and people dressed in pink overalls.
Throughout the week, the Aalborg Tower will be lit up in pink, and on Saturday, even more of the city will turn pink as Aalborg once again marks Pink Saturday and raises money for the fight against breast cancer.
On Saturday from 10:00 to 15:00, activities will take place at several locations across the city, while local shops and businesses will show their support with events, special offers and pink decorations.
Music, cupcakes and pink meringue kisses
One of the main locations on Saturday will be Gabels Torv in central Aalborg.
A tent will be set up where visitors can buy cupcakes, hand-tied bouquets and products supporting the breast cancer campaign.
There will also be a raffle with a variety of prizes.
And it will be difficult to avoid the colour pink in the streets.
If you come across someone wearing pink overalls, there is a good chance they are out selling meringue kisses to raise money for the campaign.
There will also be entertainment throughout the day. At 11:00, Tonny Buhl will perform music by the tent, at 12:00 the balloon man will stop by, and at 14:00 the choir Fruer med Druer will provide the entertainment.
See Aalborg with Jonny Hefty
There will also be an opportunity to experience the city from a slightly different perspective.
Jonny Hefty will host a walking tour featuring some of Aalborg’s many murals. However, you will have to be quick if you want to join, as there is only room for 25 participants.
Pink Saturday will not be limited to the city centre.
Hasseris Bymidte is taking part again, while activities will also be held at Nørresundby City Center, Haraldslund Vand- og Kulturhus and DGI Huset Nordkraft.

In addition, a number of shops around Aalborg will decorate in pink, offer special deals and support the fundraising campaign in various ways.
As something new this year, Kennedy Arkaden will also have a stand with a raffle.
Pink Saturday takes place on Saturday, 3 October from 10:00 to 15:00.
There is no need to register to take part in the day itself.
