Aalborg’s best tapas: Here are the places to try
Dinner… Should it be a burger? Or maybe something a little fresher? Something fried could also be delicious.
Oh, I’m also craving something sweet. Aaargh!
It can be difficult to decide what the evening’s menu should be.
Luckily, there is a brilliant invention that makes it possible to enjoy lots of different flavours in one and the same meal. Namely: tapas.
We’ve put together a guide to some delicious places to eat that serve tapas in Aalborg:
Nede Paa Jorden
Our first recommendation is the cosy wine bar Nede Paa Jorden on Nørregade. It’s a pretty great place to enjoy some tapas, if you ask us.
Nede Paa Jorden has the cosiest atmosphere, filled with romance and warmth, with French tunes playing in the background. And tapas only gets better when enjoyed with a good glass of wine.
Here, you can put together the perfect tapas selection according to your own taste.
Among other things, you can choose from charcuterie, various cheeses, Serrano ham, pesto, pâté and burrata.
And if you feel like ending the evening with something sweet, you can enjoy a crème brûlée for just DKK 65, or the tart of the day for just DKK 55.

Pingvin
If you’re a true tapas connoisseur, you’ve probably already visited Restaurant Pingvin. And if not, it’s definitely time!
At Pingvin, you can put together the perfect tapas platter yourself. You can choose between 4, 6 or 8 tapas from cuisines around the world, and the menu is divided into the themes “from the land”, “from the sea” and “from the air”.
A delicious salad and fresh bread are also always served alongside your tapas.
There are plenty of delicious options, and everything sounds incredibly tempting. Here are some of our favourites from the menu:
- Tempura-battered and deep-fried white fish with tartar sauce
- Beef tenderloin carpaccio with truffle mayo and balsamic-pickled mushrooms
- Chicken salad with asparagus and mushrooms, topped with bacon and pickled mushrooms
- Rillettes of cured and confit duck with juniper, thyme, rosemary and bay leaves, served with Kalamata olives
Pingvin also offers dessert tapas, where you can choose three of their desserts.
There’s no doubt that Pingvin has something for everyone.

Pincho Nation
If you’re looking for a truly unique restaurant experience, Pincho Nation is definitely worth a visit.
Here, you can enjoy flavourful tapas from around the world, and the menu also features a wide selection of delicious drinks. That seems fitting when the restaurant is located at the end of Jomfru Ane Gade.
The staff are also dressed in circus outfits, so you can’t help but get into a festive mood as soon as you step inside Pincho Nation.
They also follow a concept where you can create your own menu – and there is certainly plenty to choose from.
Pincho Nation’s menu is divided into: meat, fish, vegetarian, kids and dessert.
The entire menu looks incredibly tempting, but if we had to pick a few favourites, it would probably be their Asian beef noodles, chicken popcorn, torpedo shrimp, salmon tartare and vodka pasta.
There are also no fewer than six desserts to choose from, including crème brûlée and churros.
Check out their menu on the website – it’s hard not to start drooling a little.

At Aktuel, you can create your own menu. As a starting point, you choose three dishes, but there is also the option to add more.
Luckily!
Because there are quite a few dishes to choose from, and let us tell you, it is certainly not an easy decision.
For example, you can get miso ramen with udon noodles, fried chicken with chilli mayo, sliders with veal fillet or ravioli with pickled mushrooms.
It certainly doesn’t sound too bad, does it?

Tapas2Go – the more classic tapas option. Fandanko changes the menu approximately once a month, but one example of what it could include is confit and pressed pork belly, large delicious tiger prawns, Vesterhavs cheese with green tomato jam, and freshly baked bread.
All Good Things from the Sea – the name pretty much says it all. It includes, among other things, poached plaice, herb-marinated scallop, and large Greenlandic prawns.
In addition, there are also kids’ tapas, dessert tapas, and an antipasto. So it is safe to say that there is something for every taste.
