More cocktails in the city: Oliver opens another bar in Aalborg

He already has a successful webshop, Mr. Gin, and the gin bar Sylvius in Algade, but that’s not enough for Oliver Bruun.
This morning, he announced that he is opening yet another bar in downtown Aalborg.
And this time, it’s not specifically about gin.
No, the focus is instead on creating tasty and, most importantly, affordable cocktails for the people of Aalborg, he says.
A simple concept
The bar, Ozzy Bar – the latest addition to the lineup – will be located at Borgergade 25, where the Eritrean and Ethiopian family restaurant Restaurant Nati previously resided.
“I’m doing it because I simply can’t help myself,” says Oliver Bruun to MigogAalborg.
“At Ozzy Bar, we’ll be making the cocktails ourselves and putting them on kegs. That’s also why we can sell them cheaper – we save a lot of time by not having to mix each one individually – that’s the whole concept,” he explains.
That way, all draft beers and cocktails will cost the same – 55 DKK each or two for 100 DKK.
The venue will have a more youthful vibe and atmosphere than what people might be used to at Sylvius, for example.
“It’s definitely aimed at a younger audience than what we have today. It’s always hard to predict, but I’m counting on university students and up to find it interesting.
It’s not a party spot, but a cozy bar with delicious cocktails,” says Oliver Bruun.
Opening This Summer
The venue will be able to welcome around 50 guests, and there will also be outdoor seating facing Borgergade.
“I’ve looked at the space before, and now it finally became available. With what we want to create, I believe the location is great. There’s a really good flow of people on Kastetvej and Borgergade.
And it’s a great stop if you’re already heading from Vestbyen into the city – so we hope to catch a lot of the young people living out there,” he says.
The exact opening date for the new and exciting cocktail bar depends on the final alcohol license, but Oliver Bruun is aiming to start serving at the beginning of the summer season.
