Back with a bite: FrAADeren drops four new sandwiches in Aalborg
2025 truly became the year when FrAADeren established itself as one of the city’s leading takeaway spots.
After an explosive start in Vestbyen in 2024, they opened a new location last summer on Danmarksgade in the city center, and Aalborg residents simply can’t get enough of their fantastic sandwiches.
That’s why it was more than well deserved when the owners, Rikke Martine Bruun Meyer and Lars Krogh Jensen, pulled the plug at the beginning of January to get some vitamin D and—just as importantly—new inspiration.
The Kastetvej location has been closed for holidays since January 2, while Danmarksgade was shut for a few days.
But now both shops are back at full throttle—with plenty of new ideas brought home from their break.
“It’s been an amazing holiday, but now our fingers are itching to spoil the people of Aalborg again,” says Lars, as he reveals no fewer than four new sandwiches for the public.
Here are all the new additions
The menu has been joined by a total of three new Italian-inspired sandwiches.

Allow us to present:
Salami Picante: Spicy salami, two kinds of cheese, giardiniera (pickled vegetables), tomato, and pesto.
Mortadella Tonnato: Mortadella, homemade tonnato sauce, two kinds of cheese, salad, spicy peppers, and pesto.
Salsa Verde: Salami, oil/greens mix, two kinds of cheese, tomato, salad, salsa verde, and red pesto.

As always, a lot of love has gone into the new creations at FrAADeren, and it’s almost impossible for us to name a favorite.
If you like your sandwich with a bit of a spice kick, you should of course go for Salami Picante. And if you’re—like us—a big Vitello Tonnato fan, you absolutely have to sink your teeth into the Mortadella Tonnato.
But if we have to name a favorite anyway, we’re actually going with option number four.
A “little” extra sandwich for the people
Yes—Lars and the team have created a “little” extra sandwich for the people.
“It’s wild. It’s really wild,” promises Lars.
And he’s right.
Sandwich of the month:

Ol’ Dirty Bastard: Deep-fried chicken, homemade hot sauce (made with, among other things, chipotle, pineapple, and coriander), romaine lettuce, blue cheese dressing, dill pickles, spring onions, pickled red onions, and chips.
It sounds intense—and it is. But fortunately, in a very good way. It’s on the spicy side, but not so much that it becomes completely unbearable.
There’s a really great balance between the different elements, and that blue cheese dressing… we’d love the recipe, THANK YOU!
Ol’ Dirty Bastard—which is a proper beast—costs 119 DKK.
It can only be purchased on Danmarksgade, while the three Italian-inspired sandwiches are available at both locations.
You’ll find FrAADeren at Kastetvej 41 or Danmarksgade 41A. They’re open from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday.
