Great news just arrived: Big investment in Aalborg Tower

At the Broderlige Skydeselskab, the owner of Aalborg Tower, there are big plans for the tall Aalborg landmark.
Now they have taken a step closer to realizing them.
AN-TV has granted 4.8 million DKK.
“We have long wanted to replace the old top, which measures 10 meters in diameter, with a new, larger top of 14 meters in diameter.
The top, which houses the restaurant, is in need of renovation and increased capacity so visitors get an improved experience.
It’s a big and bold project that we cannot manage alone,” says Dan Brock-Faber, board member of Det Broderlige Skydeselskab, in a press release.
There are many phases in the upcoming project to revitalize Aalborg Tower, and the grant from AN-TV will be used to reinforce the tower’s steel legs and foundation, while further funding will be sought to realize the other phases of the project.
“That’s why it’s crucial for us to have AN-TV’s support behind us, so we hopefully can attract other funds and thereby realize the project. There is great excitement about receiving the grant, and we are very eager about the future,” says Dan Brock-Faber.
Should look like itself
The project to revitalize Aalborg Tower has been underway for a long time, and Dan Brock-Faber, who has an engineering background, has been working on it since 2017.
“The project is important because we preserve cultural heritage, while also having the opportunity to develop Aalborg Tower’s possibilities for the future.
It is architecturally important that we keep the tower’s frame so it looks as it always has.
Many probably won’t notice any change other than the top increasing from 10 to 14 meters in diameter, which I believe will give a more harmonious overall appearance,” says Dan Brock-Faber.
“Oversized grill bar”
The expansion of the top includes an underbuilding that will house cloakroom and toilet facilities, as well as improved access for those with mobility challenges.
“We want to create better experiences in Aalborg Tower so that guests, instead of encountering an oversized grill bar, will find a modern restaurant with good service and appetizing dishes.
There should be opportunities to hold events such as weddings and receptions in the tower, with catering coming from Skydepavillion’s excellent kitchen.
We want to open up the restaurant so it’s possible to see the entire space from all areas, unlike now where there is an obstructive kitchen core in the middle,” explains Dan Brock-Faber.
Several organizations and educational institutions have been involved in the drawings and design of the new Aalborg Tower, including Rambøll, UCN Aalborg, Via University College in Aarhus, and the Engineering College in Aarhus.
Now it’s just a matter of raising more funds to bring the vision for Aalborg Tower and its future possibilities to life.
