Big parade to celebrate: The huge Christmas tree on Nytorv will soon be lit

Saturday, November 19th, will be a big day for all Christmas lovers in North Jutland.

Santa will come sailing to Aalborg, but that’s not all…

Aalborg Municipality has just confirmed that the Christmas tree on Nytorv will also be lit up on Saturday.

Program

14.30 – Parade from Gabels Torv with Aalborg’s marching band, Santa, Mayor Thomas Kastrup-Larsen and the Vice Mayor of Fredrikstad Atle Ottesen in on a firetruck. The parade ends at Nytorv.

15.00 – Aalborg Marching Band play by the Christmas Tree

15.30 – The lights on the Christmas Tree are turned on

Afterwards, gløgg (mulled wine) and æbleskiver (pancake puffs) are served in front of Aalborg Town Hall

It is 61 years since Aalborg’s friendship city Fredrikstad gave Aalborg a Christmas tree for the first time.
