Budget-friendly bites: Istanbul Kebab’s cheap brunch and burgers this january

Is your wallet feeling the pinch after the expensive Christmas shopping, and have you sworn to survive on nothing but oatmeal in January to save every penny? Then there’s good news.

Throughout January, you can – without any guilt – indulge in a delicious Turkish brunch at Istanbul Kebab for just 109 kroner.

“People love our brunch, and many haven’t tried it yet. This is a great opportunity to come in and taste it,” says Abdulbaki Basak, who runs Istanbul Kebab with his family.

You can see the offer below. But it’s not just the brunch that’s on discount.

Next week, from Monday, January 12 to Sunday, January 18, you can get a burger for only 89 kroner. That’s a saving of up to 51 kroner on a good lunch or dinner.

Meat from local butchers

Although the name Istanbul Kebab might make you think of fast food and durum wraps, the restaurant is much more than that.

The kitchen has a clear Turkish concept, focusing on grilled dishes and classic specialties, just like you’d find on a holiday in Turkey.

“Our food focus is Turkish dishes. We make everything from grilled skewers to our popular kebab plates, and many people associate us with the grilled food, which has become a hit,” says Abdulbaki Basak.

And even though the January prices are low, the quality hasn’t been compromised.

All meat is sourced from local butchers in Aalborg, and the spices are carefully selected from a supplier in Aarhus.

“People spent a lot of money in December, so now they should be able to eat affordably. You should still be able to go out and enjoy good food, even if January is tight,” he explains.

So if you haven’t yet tried Turkish cuisine – or visited the restaurant at Østerågade 3 in the heart of Aalborg – January is a really good time to do so.
