Aalborg city center is packed with Christmas joy, markets, stalls, and cozy Christmas lights.

Again this year, Studenterbiksen has returned to the streets of Aalborg with their delicious candied almonds – and this year they’ve also brought Christmas trees, Santa hats, and Christmas clothing.

Besides offering the sugar-coated, roasted almond, the stall supports students financially by giving them a job during November and December.

Candied almonds with licorice, cinnamon, and cocoa

Even if you can imagine the scent of candied almonds, there’s plenty of more to smell.

That’s because Studenterbiksen offers several different variations. Of course, there are regular candied almonds with sugar but also flavors like licorice, cocoa, and cinnamon.

Studenterbiksen is best known for its roasted almonds, but this year they are expanding the concept to include Santa hats and Christmas clothing.

You don’t have to look far if you want sweets or elf clothing. Their cozy wooden stalls are easy to spot and centrally located so you can satisfy your sweet tooth from wherever in town.

Studenterbiksen can be found at Gabels Torv with a large selection of Christmas trees and by the Christmas market at Gammeltorv where you can buy Christmas trees, decorations for graves, super cool Santa hats, and other Christmas wear.

The almond shops in front of Friis on Gabels Torv and Bredegade Torv near Bog & Idé are open until December 23rd. Opening hours are 12:00-19:00  on weekdays and 10:00-17:00 on weekends.

Run by students only

Studenterbiksen is unique because students from AAU, UCN and a few high schools run it.

The organizers tell MyAalborg that the concept creates jobs for students in Aalborg and creates a good and understanding working environment.

In addition, it is also a supplement to the student’s income so there is a little more cash for “textbooks for next semester or more money for Christmas gifts,” they write.
