Closing soon: Thrift store selling everything for 20 kroner

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

In April 2022, a new thrift store opened on Boulevarden in Aalborg.

It was Kirkens Genbrug which offers a range of secondhand/vintage clothes and accessories for young and old.

Now, one year later, they are moving to a new location and are holding a big moving sale (the new address is yet to be announced).

This is good news for thrift-loving Aalborg residents, as everything in the store can be purchased for just 20 kroner, and you can get three items for 50 kroner.

However, some items that are already being sold at a special price are excluded from the sale.

The store is open from 13:00 to 17:00 today and from Mondays to Thursdays. It’s closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

A great deal and a great cause

In a press release during the store’s opening in 2022, the chairperson of Aalborgprovstiers Menighedspleje, Birgitte Viftrup Mortensen, stated that there were many good reasons to shop at the store.

Not only can shoppers get great deals on stylish clothes, but they can also support a good cause by buying from Kirkens Genbrug.

“Our involvement in the thrift store is about giving back to those who need it,” Birgitte said.

“At Menighedsplejen, we provide important care work throughout Aalborg Municipality, and it is a great gift to be supported by Kirkens Genbrug in that work. The proceeds from the store, for example, support work with ‘Frikvarter for Relatives’, sitting with the dying, and sending visitors to many homes.

In advance, I already send a big THANK YOU to everyone who contributes with economic value, so that together we can create social and human value for many, many people.”
