Cozy and welcoming: These pubs are open in Aalborg

Cold beers, wooden tables with beer-ring stains, cigarette smells in the wallpaper, neighbor-like conversations, classic Danish tunes in the speakers, and a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. 

Classic pubs and bodegas offer a different experience than the city’s posh cafés and the vodka-stained discos. 

People of all ages head to the pubs throughout the week, and although the service industry is dealing with corona-related restrictions, there are still quite a few places that remain open.

Café Alpha

Café Alpha opened in 1899 and is one of Aalborg’s oldest pubs. Indeed, age can make most things better, and this place is legendary. It’s known for a special togetherness and comradeship.

Jægerstuen

Jægerstuen opened in 2018 and is known for its “coziness, jukebox, and slots machines.”

Færö Kroen

Færö Kroen opened more recently than the others on the list but was quick to build a dedicated customer group in the ø-gade district.

Tempo Bodega

Can you call yourself a local if you haven’t ventured into Tempo Bodega at one point or another? This watering hole opened in 1935 and is full of high spirits.

Den Røde Lygte

Den Røde Lygte is difficult to miss when walking along Vesterbro. There is always a cheerful crowd inside as well as outside.

Promenaden

The west part of the city (Vestbyen) is also home to pubs and here Promenaden ranks high on the list as a popular place to hang out.

Munken

Munken is located in the west part of the city as well and is a smaller venue with room for everyone. Here you can find good beer, humor, and often live music.
