Very popular in Denmark: Outdoor Escape Room concept comes to Aalborg

Loves solving mysteries and challenges? Then we have some great news for you.
Denmark’s leading provider of outdoor Escape Rooms/Games is finally coming to Aalborg.
City Escape confirmed the news to MigogAalborg.
“We have been looking forward to opening in Aalborg, and we’re already launching this weekend,” reveals Lasse Bundvad Jakobsen from City Escape.
City Escape is already present in 16 cities across Denmark.
How the concept works
The concept is simple.
You book a mission via the website, then pick up an iPad and other equipment at a Meeting Point – which in Aalborg will be at Gammeltorv.
From there, you typically have 120 minutes to solve the mystery, walking through the city center to find clues and tackle puzzles of varying difficulty levels.
City Escape uses the latest technology, integrating iPads, equipment, and the urban environment into their missions.

The experience includes Augmented Reality, similar to what many may recognize from Pokémon GO. This means that virtual elements are placed in the real world through your screen as you play.
“Our missions are fun, challenging, and incredibly exciting. We have different missions suitable for all age groups and occasions – so whether you’re with family, friends, or colleagues, you can enjoy a unique experience exploring the streets of Aalborg,” promises Lasse.
For instance, you can take on Mission: Hunt a Killer, where – equipped with gadgets and an iPad – you embark on an intense murder case investigation through the city’s streets and alleys.
There are also more child-friendly missions, such as Operation Mindfall and The Magic Portal.

“Many companies use our missions for team-building, and our system can accommodate both small businesses and large corporations with hundreds of employees,” says Lasse.
You can also book missions for children’s birthday parties.
Introducing an exciting new mission in Aalborg
City Escape is also bringing their latest mission to Aalborg: Mission: Save The Wedding – the perfect activity for a bachelor or bachelorette party.
“This has been a huge success because the mission revolves around a wedding. It’s incredibly entertaining, and we have a mission tailored for both the groom and the bride,” says Lasse.
City Escape has already opened for bookings – and Lasse recommends securing your spot early if you want to be among the first to experience it.
