Euro 2020 celebration party in Aalborg: Watch Denmark on the big screen

by Ashton Christensen

In a few days, Denmark will for the first time ever have its UEFA European Championship premiere at home.

Only 16.000 spectators are allowed into the stadium to back up our Euro-boys due to corona so they need support from everyone across the country.

The football fever is thus hitting Aalborg as well.

Usually, there’s a big-screen event downtown for the games but the corona restrictions prohibit any huge events this year.

But do not worry, there are bigger squares in Aalborg where you can join a real Euro-celebration party for a fantastic time.

Do you remember the European Championship in 1984 or the World Cup in 1990? Elkjær, Laudrup, and Schmeichel?

Soon, we’re ready for many new Danish football experiences now that the European Championship is being held in Copenhagen.

The first game is against Finland on Saturday, June 12.

Euros on the big screen in Kildeparken

Right now, the Aalborg Congress & Culture Center is hosting “Summer In Kilden” at Kildeparken where they regularly host amazing events. These events include everything from comedy, outdoor concerts, and, you guessed it, the Euro-games featuring Denmark.

There are 500 spots up for grab to watch Denmark on the big screen in Kildeparken for Denmark’s three group matches.

You can also order a picnic basket. The last time we checked, there were very few tickets left so hurry if you want a seat.

Denmark’s games on the big screen by Havnefronten

The harbor-view, cold beers, and last but not least, comradery.

Denmark’s three games will be shown on a big screen at Musikkens Plads in front of Musikkens Hus. So, naturally, there will be a seating area and access to a bar.

Imagine how cool it will be to cheer on when Eriksen and the boys score while feeling the breeze from the Limfjord.

Musikkens Hus is actually on lockdown because it is nearby Vor Frue Sogn.

But the lockdown may be cancelled as of tomorrow, June 11. That means the lockdown may be lifted before the first Euro-game.

Of course, Musikkens Hus will refund the tickets if the parish remains under lockdown.

Tickets for the match against Finland on 12 June

Euros on the big screen at the cinema

If you prefer not to worry about whether it will rain or be too windy, you’re in luck because you can watch the games at Nordisk Film’s cinemas here in Aalborg.

You can watch the games at Kennedy Arkaden and City Syd. A ticket costs 150 kr.

Even though nothing beats the real deal, it’s going to be an amazing opportunity to experience Denmark’s games with the best surround sound on the cinema screen together with the other fans. And naturally lots of popcorn and cola.

Denmark – Finland: Saturday 12/6 at 17.30.

Denmark – Belgium: Thursday 17/6 at 17.30.

Russia – Denmark: Monday 21/6 at 20.30.
