Extraordinary effort: Have your Christmas tree collected from your home address

by Megan McPhee Christensen

As magical as all the Christmas preparations are in the lead up to Christmas eve, there is equally as much that needs to be cleaned up once the Christmas season is over.

Unfortunately, it’s often the case that trees end up hidden away in the backyard, thrown on the sidewalk, or even lie in the middle of a street, which doesn’t make it any easier for the already busy garbage collectors.

Therefore, Aalborg Municipality is making an extraordinary effort to make sure precisely your tree is collected.

This offer is directed toward those that aren’t already included in the garden waste scheme. If you are, then you can see when Aalborg Forsyning will collect your waste here.

On January 11 and 12, 2021, Aalborg Forsyning will collect Christmas trees in the city centers of both Aalborg and Nørresundby – the only requirements are that the trees are cut into pieces of maximum 1 meter and that they are left on the sidewalk latest at 6 am on the January 11.

Of course, the tree must not be a nuisance for pedestrians.

If you are part of a housing or owner’s association outside of the city center, then you can order a Christmas tree collection for your address.
