For a good cause: Hang up your bra at the waterfront
Saturday, October 8th, is the traditional Pink Saturday, marking a nationwide campaign called Støt Brysterne (Support the Breasts). This year marks the 15th event.
Since 2008, volunteers and local businesses have gathered every fall, outfitted with pink shirts, to support the Pink Saturday nationwide fundraising event.
Over the years, there has been dancing, brunch, auctions, running, walking the dog, and much more.
All for a good cause and to show support and commitment to Pink Saturday. The fundraising event has raised over 41 million kroner for breast cancer.
Give away your bra for a good cause
Probably one of the most fun and eye-catching initiatives in Aalborg takes place at the waterfront, where you can hang – more or less – used bras to raise awareness and show support for the cause.
The BRA-Borg fence will open for throw-away bras on the harbor front Saturday, September 25th. Everyone can come by and hang any bras they have brought with them on the fence.
Program for September 25th:
- 13:00 – 13:30: Opening by the former professional badminton players Kamilla and Christinna. Afterwards, everyone’s welcome to hang their bras on the Bra-fence until October 8th.
- 13:00-16:30: Buy tickets for a 45-meter lift and view Aalborg from a great height (offered by Vognmandsforretning). All proceeds go to support the event and cause.
You can also SUPPORT THE BREASTS by shopping at the stalls nearby to support the cancer society (In Danish: Kræftens Bekæmpelse)
