Free cake and bubbles: Join the inauguration of the new “Karolinelund”

One of Aalborg’s central city parks has finally been rejuvenated, and it’s time to celebrate.

Aalborg Municipality is therefore inviting everyone to the official inauguration of the opening of Østerå through Karolinelund on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 16:00 to 17:00.

Karolinelund has undergone a major transformation with the opening of Østerå, which winds beautifully through the park.

For the inauguration of the newly opened Østerå, you can listen to speeches by the Councilman of City and Country, Jan Nymark Rose Thaysen, and enjoy a pleasant afternoon in the park with lounge music.

Free cake, (non-alcoholic) bubbles, and soft drinks will be served at the event, while water environment experts from Aalborg Municipality will be present to answer questions about the water environment in the stream.

Councilman of City and Country, Jan Nymark Rose Thaysen, is excited about the inauguration:

“It’s an incredible transformation that has taken place in Karolinelund. The project involving the opening of Østerå supports both recreational qualities, water environmental considerations, and the management of the increasing amounts of rainwater that comes.

And I’m sure the park will become a recreational gem, attracting and uniting many residents of Aalborg.

We need to celebrate all of this when we inaugurate the park’s stream,” Councilman of City and Country, Jan Nymark Rose Thaysen, says.

The stream course in the park has been designed with bridges that provide passage over the water, as well as lounging platforms that allow for getting up close to the water and following its path through the park towards the fjord.
