When Aalborg Regatta returns from August 21st to 25th, 2024, it will feature plenty of participating ships and a large street food area in Utzon Park.

The ships Christian Radich, Absalon, Eendracht, Morgenster, Dar Mlodziezy, LOA, Brita Leth, Maja, Jens Krogh, Patrioten, M/S Anton, Skonnerten Jylland, and Alba have already confirmed their attendance, and there are some very exciting vessels among them:

“We have some big beautiful sailing ships like Dar Mlodziezy, Christian Radich, Eendracht, and Morgenster visiting, along with a huge navy ship Absalon,” Mayor Lasse Frimand Jensen says.

So, the audience can firsthand get an insight into how vastly different vessels are equipped and what life is like on board.

It will be a magnificent sight with the many ships along the Aalborg waterfront.

Street food was a big success

Aalborg Events, the organizer of Aalborg Regatta, has also entered into an agreement for Aalborg Regatta 2024 with Mad & Kultur, who were responsible for the initiative in 2023.

The focus on street food was a great success during Aalborg Regatta in 2023.

“We received many positive responses from the guests. With the experiences from 2023, we believe that together we can expand the success.

We really hope that actors from Aalborg and Northern Jutland will be interested in participating now that the concept has proven to be of great interest to the public,” Lasse Frimand Jensen explains.

“More than 50,000 guests visited Utzon Park and the many stalls during Aalborg Regatta in 2023.

In 2023, we had 18 different food concepts,” Thor Andersen from Mad & Kultur, who together with Kristian Andersen owns and operates Mad & Kultur, says.

“In 2024, 70 percent of these will be replaced, allowing more local actors to participate. This year, as something new, we have 4-6 stall spaces with a tipi tent, power, a counter, and some facade decoration.

A multitude of activities Whether you’re a foodie, fishmonger, restaurateur, coffee shop owner, or anything else, you can just move in and put your own mark.

You can rent a space here at cost price,” Kristian Andersen from Mad & Kultur explains.

“So, as a local business, you don’t have to invest in a large mobile setup to participate. Of course, you can also participate with a food truck or other type of food stall if you prefer.”

In addition to ships and street food, Aalborg Regatta will offer a variety of maritime activities and, of course, live music.

Restaurateurs, food truck owners, and food producers interested in being part of the street food area in Utzon Park during Aalborg Regatta 2024 can contact Mad & Kultur at this email address.
