Great news for students: Visit Kunsten Museum of Modern Art for free in May

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

If you’re a student in Aalborg Municipality and you’re interested in culture you’ll be happy to hear that you can visit Kunsten Museum of Modern Art in all of May for free.

All you need to do is show a valid student card and then you’ll have access to events and art, which during this month especially highlights climate and environmental issues.

This opportunity is possible because of Spar Nord. The bank wishes to focus on community and sustainability and has thus supported the museum economically. Kunsten announced this in a press release.

“Culture is something that challenges and evolves us as people just like it gathers us and creates communities. That is why culture has to be shared in order to be appreciated to the fullest,” Ninna Holch, ESG Officer in Spar Nord, says.

Big success last year

Kunsten also offered free entrance to students in 2021 and at that time it successfully drew in younger people.

“And many were so happy that they subsequently bought an annual pass and came back for our Kunsten Summer Lounge but also at different times.

We’re happy that this May-initiative leads to more people, especially younger ones, discovering that Kunsten is a nice and informal place to visit and become inspired, gain new knowledge or just hangout,” Lasse Andersson, director of Kunsten, explains.
