Hangover Sunday at Drivhuset: Swap Netflix for live comedy

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

The Comedy Store x Drivhuset is the recipe for the perfect Sunday where the audience can wear their Sunday best, enjoy delicious (hangover) food, and trade Netflix for live international comedy.

Drivhuset will be transformed into a hangover cave at Aalborg Kongres & Kultur Center (AKKC) on Sunday, November 12th.

In a press release, AKKC writes that they have partnered with Live Nation to bring a special addition to Drivhuset, where they will be presenting the popular British comedy show ‘The Comedy Store’ in Aalborg.

The Comedy Store x Drivhuset will take place on selected Sundays, where the audience can enhance their Sunday in the best hangover style, relaxing in a cozy lounge setting with a cold cola and a bag of chips, great (hangover) food, and international comedy featuring three different comedians on stage.

The Comedy Store x Drivhuset will make its debut in Drivhuset on Sunday, November 12th, where the audience can look forward to a hilarious lineup with Jarred Christmas, Christian Reilly, and Sully O’Sullivan.

Three international masters of humor

The New Zealand sensation Jarred Christmas is one of the most innovative and exciting comedians on the British comedy scene. He is known for his quick wit, masterful improvisation skills, and high-energy storytelling.

Christian Reilly is a musical comedian renowned on the global comedy stage. He has performed at numerous international comedy festivals, on BBC radio and TV, and in four seasons of the award-winning stand-up and sketch series from Chortle Award.

Globetrotter and Kiwi comedian Sully O’Sullivan was hailed as a highlight at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival. He has appeared on the Australian TV program The Comedy Channel, supported former wrestling champion Mick Foley on tour, and in 2021 all his shows were sold out.

Host with knowledge of Denmark

The host for the evening is the American comedian, author and improvisor Abby Wambaugh, who has a strong connection to Denmark.

She frequently performs and hosts various stand-up shows in both Copenhagen and the UK. Additionally, she co-hosts the podcast ‘Coping in Copenhagen,’ one of the most popular podcasts about life in Denmark.

The Comedy Store x Drivhuset invites the audience to embrace a genuine Sunday vibe, starting at 16:00 with a cozy board game lounge, followed by some great (hangover) food and hearty laughter in a total low-key atmosphere.

Tickets for The Comedy Store x Drivhuset on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at 6 PM in AKKC/Europahallen are on sale and can be purchased at AKKC’s ticket office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 3 PM, or online at akkc.dk/study.
