Unless you’ve been living in a cave the past few weeks, you’ll have noticed that the Euro 2020 fever has been on the rise in Denmark.

As the national team has progressed throughout the tournament, fans have adopted a new slogan:

“We are not going home – we are moving on” (Vi skal ikke hjem – vi skal videre) – a quote that stems from the beloved Olsen Banden movies.

Today, Denmark will play the most important national game since 1992 when they face England in the semi-final.

The football fever is red-hot in the whole country, and Aalborg is no exception. This was cemented yesterday when a new mural suddenly appeared.

Chasing the final

It’s the graffiti artist known as “Burnon” who has created the mural in honor of the Danish team.

The picture of Wembley and Kasper Schmeichel symbolizes the hunt for the final, which will take place on Sunday against Italy.

You can find the art in Karolinelund between Blok X and the community gardens in the eastern part of the park. It’s already gone “viral” in Aalborg with many locals posting in on Instagram.

Tonight, the streets of Aalborg are bound to be filled with people.

The two big screenings of the game on Musikkens Plads and in Kildeparken are already sold out.

Additionally, the event at Aalborg Streetfood, which has been a very popular place to watch the games, is expected to be crammed.

Tonight’s game is played at 21:00 at Wembley.
