Construction begins now: District to get two new grocery stores

The development of the new Stigsborg district in Nørresundby is moving forward rapidly.

Earlier this year, the StigsborgHus, developed by Wagner Ejendomme, was completed, while the new and ambitious primary school and daycare center, Huset Stigsborg, also opened its doors.

Now construction begins on a new residential block with 3,300 square meters of retail space on the ground floor for grocery stores Netto and MENY, as well as 90 rental apartments built around a green and inviting courtyard.

This is announced by Stigsborg in a press release.

Pile driving marks the start of construction

Starting today, November 12, pile driving begins to ensure a solid foundation for the new building.

Approximately 700 piles will be driven into the ground — equal to a total length of 8,000 meters — and the work is expected to last 4–5 weeks.

The project is being carried out in collaboration between PFA Pension and A. Enggaard, with AART as the architectural firm.

The construction is an important step for the district and a cornerstone in the strategy for “the good everyday life” in Stigsborg, where the goal is for residents to have all essential daily needs met locally — including grocery shopping.

The new development will have a central location on building site B11, right next to the Mobility House and Huset Stigsborg, and will include about 1,300 square meters for Netto and 2,000 square meters for MENY.

The grocery stores are expected to open and be ready for use by the end of 2027.
