From model airplane flying to Hyrox CrossFit – the activities are almost lining up for the public as IDRÆTSDØGNET returns with a 24-hour buffet of Aalborg’s sports and club offerings.

Last time, the event took place at Gigantium, but this year it will be held at Skansen in Nørresundby, and you can already sign up for several activities.

IDRÆTSDØGNET runs from Friday, September 26.

Maybe a sauna session would be a good way to relax on a Friday or Saturday? Or are you more interested in challenging a friend to an ergometer rowing race? Or perhaps a game of chess with your mom or dad?

The possibilities are endless when the team behind Aalborg’s annual IDRÆTSMØDET invites you to IDRÆTSDØGNET at Skansen in Nørresundby from Friday, September 26 at 3:30 PM to Saturday, September 27 at 3:30 PM.

A showcase and a try-out space

The new sports concept debuted last year with great success, attracting nearly 6,000 visitors.

The goal is to showcase the wide variety of opportunities in Aalborg’s rich sports and recreational life – all within just 24 hours.

“Aalborg has a fantastic sports and leisure scene, with opportunities for children, youth, and adults of all ages. But not everyone knows about all the great offerings, so we work year-round on different ways to make it visible.

IDRÆTSDØGNET, which started last year, is essentially a showcase and try-out space for Aalborg’s many activity offerings. Here, you can participate in or watch a wide range of exciting leisure activities completely free over 24 hours in and around Skansen in Nørresundby. We hope to reach both those who are currently inactive and those who want to explore new sides of club life or try a new sport,” says Jes Lunde, Alderman for Health and Culture in Aalborg Municipality, in a press release.

New arena, new possibilities

IDRÆTSDØGNET debuted last year at Gigantium, but this year the sports festival has moved to Skansen in Nørresundby.

The new arena allows for new activities and opportunities, with particular focus on different target groups on Friday and Saturday:

“We focus on attracting the city’s youth to Skansen on Friday afternoon, where we are organizing a sort of ‘Friday bar’ with billiards, chess, backgammon, and darts. On Saturday, the focus shifts to families with children, allowing them to be active together.

Skansen has a variety of sports facilities on a small area in the middle of a large residential neighborhood – and of course, we hope locals will drop by. But IDRÆTSDØGNET is meant to inspire everyone across the municipality – so we look forward to seeing as many people as possible,” says Morten Arvidsson, coordinator for IDRÆTSMØDET and IDRÆTSDØGNET.

You can find more information on the IDRÆTSMØDE website.

There, you can also register for activities if you want to secure your spot.

Everything is free – so hurry in, get inspired, and plan your visit to make the most out of the day.
