Soon gone: Iconic spot in Aalborg is closing very soon

Since the 1980s, you’ve been able to grab a “kradser” or a “hotdog with everything” at Bredegade Square, but now Bredegade Pølsehus is closing after several years of losses.

“The last sausage will be served at the end of October or on Saturday, November 1,” says the current owner, who has run the place for the past eight years.

According to BBR, the building was constructed in 1999, but even before that, sausages were sold from a rolling hotdog cart on the square.

This marks the closure of yet another iconic hotdog stand in Aalborg.

Two years ago, “Børnenes Kontor” at Nytorv had to close because the place could not find a new manager to take over operations.

However, the closure of Bredegade Pølsehus is part of a redevelopment plan that aims to transform Bredegade Square into an attractive spot for both shops and residents – a project expected to begin soon.

When the new plans are realized, the space where the hotdog stand sits will be used for a new modern building.

It is still uncertain when the renovation will begin, and due to financial losses and declining sales, the current owner has decided to close already this fall.

You can still grab a bite before the stand closes on October 31 – or November 1.
