Big shopping news: Iconic Aalborg store moves out of the city centre
After nearly five decades in the heart of Aalborg, Brdr. Sørensen Møbler is now taking the next step in the company’s history.
They are leaving the city centre to open one of Denmark’s most exclusive furniture houses, bringing everything together under one roof.
The Right Time for a Big Move
Brdr. Sørensen Møbler has been based on Danmarksgade since 1977, but space has become too limited. That’s why the iconic Aalborg store is relocating to a brand-new and ambitious 2,500-square-metre furniture universe on the former Gasa site on Hobrovej.
Customers will be welcomed into a meticulously designed showroom where aesthetics, functionality, and international furniture artistry come together.
The new store will feature a visual concept best described as a blend of New York loft and Nordkraft architecture.
It will showcase architect-designed furniture of international calibre, handpicked from both Danish and international design houses that represent the finest in furniture tradition.
“Although it’s bittersweet to leave the centre of Aalborg after so many years, this is absolutely the right time for us. We’re ready for much more, and now we’re taking an ambitious step toward the future of furniture retail,” says Jan Sørensen, owner of Brdr. Sørensen Møbler.

Tailor-Made Solutions
The new furniture house will be a full experience universe, offering events, wine tastings, architectural talks, and loads of inspiration. A dedicated interior design department will also be introduced, where some of the industry’s most talented architects will offer tailor-made solutions for both private homes and businesses.
Brdr. Sørensen Møbler will continue to carry iconic brands like Fritz Hansen, Carl Hansen, Vipp, Montana, Vitra, Zanotta, Louis Poulsen and many more. The new location will also make room for exciting new brands, to be revealed soon.
The store in Randers will continue unchanged, and the opening date for the new Aalborg location will be announced later this spring.
