Illuminated by 500 torches: Popular night run returns to Aalborg

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

Last year, more than 150 people participated in the atmospheric night run organized by FDF Frejlev – Sønderholm.

The feedback was so overwhelmingly positive that they are now repeating the success with the spectacular torch run that will illuminate the dark streets of Aalborg.

On March 2nd, from 19:00 to 21:00, Nibevej 151 will be the epicenter of another unforgettable evening where over 500 blazing torches will guide participants through a unique running experience.

Despite the overwhelming support for the run last year, the organizers from FDF Frejlev – Sønderholm are aiming to make the event even bigger this time.

Routes for all levels

Although the run has primarily become known for its visual appeal, it is also a physical challenge.

Participants can choose from different routes, all illuminated by the over 500 flickering torches.

The running route covers 5 km, and there will be prizes for the fastest runners.

For those who prefer a more leisurely pace, there are two walking routes of 1.5 km and 3 km.

The youngest participants can join the “Children’s Hunt” with two routes of 1.5 km and 3 km. Here, the focus is on finding different information along the route to have a chance to win exciting prizes.

Varied prices

Participation prices vary, catering to all levels.

Children can participate for 80 kroner, with the opportunity to win prizes as mentioned.

Walkers or those who prefer a relaxed pace can join for 65 kroner.

Runners pay 125 kroner.

All participants will be rewarded with hot soup at the end of the route, included in the price.

There will also be an opportunity to buy water, soft drinks, and delicious cake at the food stalls.

For those who wish to participate, registration can be done here.
