Intensifying efforts: Uniformed officers are coming to Aalborg Airport

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

In the future, you will encounter more uniformed officers at Aalborg Airport.

North Jutland Police states in a press release that, in accordance with the announcement from the Ministry of Justice on August 3rd, that they are temporarily intensifying efforts at the inner Danish borders.

For the North Jutland police district, this means that they are increasing their attention at the border crossings in the North Jutland region. Specifically, these are:

  • Increased supervision from the uniformed patrol service at the North Jutland border crossings – these are Hirtshals, Frederikshavn, and Aalborg Airport.
  • Our supervision will be an extension of our existing control obligations, which means that citizens or travelers at ports or airports may experience random border checks by the police.

Chief Inspector at North Jutland Police, Henrik Skals, states:

“It is the belief of North Jutland Police that citizens and travelers in the North Jutland region will only experience minimal inconvenience due to this temporary intensification of efforts at the inner Danish borders.

However, periodically, you might notice a few extra police officers at the border crossings.

The police district asks for the citizens’ understanding if, contrary to expectations, minor delays occur as we carry out our work.”
