How many Winter Olympic sports have you tried? Well, it might be worth considering as the Winter Olympics are approaching.

Next year China will host the Olympic Games in Beijing, and many will be watching from Denmark.

One sport getting a lot of attention during the Winter Olympics in Denmark is curling. But why wait to watch curling when you can start now?

Yes indeed, there are available brooms for sweeping the ice at Gigantium.

On Wednesday, September 8, a new and exciting curling course will start at Gigantium. The curling course is arranged by the Aalborg Curling Club and will include eight Wednesday lessons. Sign up here.

Competent trainers are ready

Skilled coaches will instruct you after an engaging kick-off program designed and developed by the Danish Sports Association and the Danish Curling Association.

The training consists of fun exercises and a chance to learn the game by sliding, curling the stone, and splitting the house – as they would say in ‘curling’ lingo. Throughout the course, you will learn the language, sweeping, tactics, team cooperation, and other game elements.

And of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to play matches with each other.

The course runs over eight Wednesdays, and Aalborg Curling Club provides the equipment and access to the ice lanes. The course equips you with professional curling shoes and proper sweeping brooms (not the ones from home).

You can sign up as one person or with friends – there is always room for one more, promises Aalborg Curling Klub.

The course costs 500 kr to participate, and after you complete the course, you can continue to be a member of the club for free until the rest of the season. The season runs until April next year, and it will allow participation in various tournaments with teams from other clubs.

Today is the last day to sign up.
