More traffic disruption: Major roads in Aalborg to be temporarily closed

Road resurfacing season is well underway in Aalborg, with several key roads now set to undergo maintenance. 

The work is necessary to lay a new asphalt surface, but before motorists can enjoy smoother roads, traffic disruptions are expected. 

Drivers should be prepared for temporary road closures, while several bus routes will also be diverted during the works. 

The project includes milling the existing asphalt, adjusting or replacing drainage grates and manhole covers, before laying new asphalt and repainting road markings. 

Road closures 

Over Kæret – Th. Sauers Vej – Gugvej Junction 

From Friday, 7 August at 9:00 AM until Monday, 10 August at 6:00 AM, the junction of Over Kæret, Th. Sauers Vej and Gugvej will be closed to both motorists and cyclists. Cyclists will still be able to pass by walking their bikes along the pavement. 

Over Kæret (Between Gugvej and Scheelsmindevej) 

From Monday, 10 August at 6:00 AM until Friday, 21 August, Over Kæret between Gugvej and Scheelsmindevejwill be closed to motorists during daytime hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. 

The work will be carried out in two phases: 

Phase 1: Gugvej to Enggårdsgade 

Phase 2: Enggårdsgade to Scheelsmindevej 

Drivers are advised to use the designated diversion route via Hobrovej, Ny Kærvej, Sønderbro and the Ådalsmotorvejen. Cyclists will be able to pass throughout the construction period by walking their bikes along the pavement. 

Enggårdsgade will be closed where it meets Over Kæret. Bus services will continue to operate, although routes will be adjusted. 

Access to the recycling centre on Over Bækken will be closed during weeks 33 and 34. 

Rebslagervej 

Rebslagervej will also be closed in connection with the works on Over Kæret from Monday, 10 August until Friday, 21 August.
