70 metres above sea level: New observation tower opens

After an extensive transformation, the old water tower in Hammer Bakker has now been turned into a new observation tower, offering views over forests, hills, and valleys.
The official opening of the new lookout tower will take place on Thursday after Easter, April 10, at 3:00 PM.
Aalborg Municipality announced the event on Facebook, inviting all interested citizens to attend the opening at the tower.

The tower is now ready for visitors.
Mayor Lasse Frimand Jensen will perform the official ribbon-cutting, while the Vodskov School Choir provides singing and Anne Marie Hassing delivers musical entertainment.
Visitors will also have the chance to experience rappelling down the outside of the tower, and treats will be served for both children and adults.
Guests can look forward to a festive afternoon with music, activities, and the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular view from the top.
24 meters tall – 70 meters above sea level
The new observation tower is 24 meters high and features an internal staircase, allowing visitors to reach the observation deck.
From the top, visitors can enjoy a unique view of both the Limfjord and the scenic Hammer Bakker area—approximately 70 meters above sea level.
Admission is free on the opening day, and the municipality hopes many will come to experience this new landmark in the area.
The project was led by the volunteer association Tårnet i Hammer Bakker, which worked to transform the former water tower into a new attraction for both locals and visitors.
The tower is located at Pitsvej 6.
Please note that parking near the tower is limited. Alternative parking is recommended, including at the Senior and Rehabilitation Center on Storemosevej.
