Gigantic project: Plans to build a recycling center costing 427 mio. DKK

A massive resource park spanning 45,000 square meters, designed to ease the pressure on existing recycling centers in Aalborg Municipality and to consolidate Nordværk’s administration at one address.
The proposal from Nordværk calls for a new resource park costing 427 million kroner, and the recommendation from the Aalborg Municipality’s Finance Committee is to proceed with the plans.
This was reported by Nordjyske.
Besides meeting these two specific needs, the plan also aims to increase citizens’ knowledge and motivation to improve resource recycling – including through a large swap market.
The plan is for the North Jutland Resource Park to be located north of Nordværk’s current headquarters on Troensevej in East Aalborg.
No timeline has yet been set for when the park is expected to be completed, and it is still unclear how the massive project will be financed.
