Part of something great: Aalborg Carnival presents next year’s theme
Aalborg Carnival has found the theme for 2026!
In fact, it comes from one of their own guests and was one of the first suggestions in the inbox when Aalborg residents were recently asked for their ideas.
The theme will be “Without You – No Us.”
A theme that celebrates the most fundamental part of Aalborg Carnival: community, joy, and being part of something bigger.
Community at the center
When we dress up, laugh, dance, and share experiences, we become something bigger than ourselves, says Aalborg Carnival.
The theme was chosen to remind us all that community only exists when we stand together – whether you come alone or with friends, you are an important part of Aalborg Carnival.
This theme is a loving reminder that every participant matters. Without you, there is no carnival, and without the community, we lose something truly unique – both at the carnival and in everyday life.
We hope it can inspire everyone to look around and think about whether there is a friend at home who is missing – and bring them along,” says Jeanett Kaare, spokesperson for Aalborg Carnival, in a press release.
Come as you are – and be part of “us”
The theme invites creativity and personal interpretation.
You can dress up as something that means something to you, something you love, or something that connects you with your friends.
Whether you choose to be part of a group costume or go your own way, you help complete the picture.
It’s about daring to be yourself – while at the same time being part of a big “us.”
Aalborg Carnival as a year-round community
With the establishment of the Aalborg Carnival Foundation in 2025, extra focus has been put on making Aalborg Carnival more than just a day of celebration.
The foundation works to strengthen young people’s well-being, community, and creativity throughout the year.
Aalborg Carnival is a space where you can be yourself, connect with others, and feel that you matter – both at the festival and for the community.
