Huge security in Aalborg: Parking garage to be closed for 11 days

On Tuesday, Denmark takes over the EU presidency. That will also be felt in Aalborg.
Here, Aalborg Congress and Culture Center (AKKC) will host several ministerial meetings and conferences.
This means that the parking garage at AKKC will be closed for regular parking from July 1 to 11, writes Nordjyske.
“The parking garage will be cordoned off from July 1 to 11. But it will still be possible to park in the spaces along the track and at the back of the parking lot itself. So there is still plenty of capacity out there,” says Deputy Police Inspector Henrik Skals to the media.
He says there will be a more visible police presence in the streets in connection with the arrival of top politicians and officials in the city.
No roads will be completely closed, and the EU presidency will therefore not result in the blocking of up to 700 central parking spaces, as was previously announced earlier this year.
“We don’t expect this to cause major challenges for citizens.
Perhaps only in connection with arrivals and departures from the various meetings, but AKKC is a place that is used to hosting large events, so everything should proceed without any significant issues,” Henrik Skals told MigogAalborg last week.
