Poké bowls and bánh mì: New takeaway spot opening in the city center
After more than six years at Boulevarden 12, Frederik Løwe decided in March last year to close We Feat – in favor of opening the brand new café Freddy Green at Nytorv.
But now we can reveal that there is finally new life coming to the beautiful premises on Boulevarden.
In September, experienced restaurateurs will open the brand new takeaway spot AN DI, which loosely translates to “let’s eat” in Vietnamese.
Behind AN DI are siblings Xuan and Vi Le. Xuan is also the man behind the great successes Caspars and Catch Sushi Bar here in Aalborg.
Two beloved takeaway dishes on the menu
As the name suggests, there will be a major focus on Vietnamese cuisine – especially the trendy Bánh mì sandwich, which has gained popularity worldwide.
Bánh mì is a Vietnamese sandwich that originated from the French occupation of Vietnam.
It consists of a classic French baguette typically filled with spiced meat, pickled vegetables, and other delights inspired by Vietnamese cuisine.
At AN DI, you can get your Bánh mì with BBQ pork and BBQ chicken, among other options.
“We are currently in talks with several local bakers who will hopefully deliver freshly baked baguettes to us,” Vi Le explains.
Besides the prospect of biting into Vietnamese baguettes with delicious fillings, the people of North Jutland can also look forward to another trendy takeaway dish.
At AN DI, you can also buy the popular Poké Bowls, which Xuan has had great success serving at Caspars.
“Our Poké Bowls will be slightly more Asian in expression than what people are used to at Caspars – but of course still with vegetables and flavors that appeal to Danish tastes,” Vi Le promises.
In addition to delicious bowls and freshly made Bánh mì, there will also be homemade lemonades on the menu.
Fantastic premises soon ready
Xuan and Vi Le have just taken over the keys to the premises from City Ejendomme.
“We have taken over some fantastic premises, which Frederik and the team from We Feat have really decorated well. Therefore, we can focus on fine-tuning the menu – and not do much with the interior,” Vi Le says.
The plan is to open AN DI during September.
