Popular game phenomenon: Catch a serial killer in the streets of Aalborg

By: Ashton Christensen

Escape Rooms have become a hit worldwide, and the phenomenon is popular in Northern Jutland as well. Here you can try many different options for solving exciting, scary, and challenging mysteries before the time runs out.

This summer, we can look forward to a brand new game in Aalborg, which has some similarities to the escape room experience.

In this new game, however, the objective is not to escape a room. Instead, you must catch a savage serial killer in the streets of Aalborg before it’s too late.

What can we look forward to

The critically acclaimed game Cluedupp is coming to Aalborg on Saturday, July 3, and they’re ready with the murder mystery The Aalborg Ripper.

Cluedupp Games creates outdoor detective-games where you have to use your smartphone to find clues along the way.

They’ve created murder mysteries in more than 40 countries, and more than 500,000 people have tried their exciting games. Tickets usually go fast. And the entries are limited so that everyone can have the best experience possible.

The name “Jack the Ripper” should ring a bell for most people but apparently, there’s a new “Ripper” loose in the streets of Aalborg this summer.

In the game, you must prove you have what it takes to catch a serial killer. But luckily, you do not have to do it alone.

You have to collect a team of super-detectives (up to 6 people), and the total cost for the team is only 304 kr.

Your team is to wander around the streets of Aalborg and perform detective work. Then you can find out whether or not you can catch the savage serial killer before time runs out. You will meet some shady characters who may or may not help you solve the mystery during the game.

And, of course, you’ll have to complete a set of challenges along the way.

There are prizes for being the fastest to solve the mystery, the best dressed up, best team photo, and team name.
