Popular specialty store expands: Opened today in beautiful new premises

From 17B to number 21.

It almost sounds like a line from a Peter Sommer song, but in reality, it’s the short move that the popular record store Lakridspizza in central Aalborg has just completed.

The move began on April 1, and today, Saturday, April 4, the store opened its doors in new and larger premises on Nørregade.

Just a few steps from the old address.

With the relocation, owner Jan and the rest of the team now have an additional 40 square metres to work with.

The new setting allows for a clearer layout of the store, including sections for new records, vinyl singles, bargain finds, and used records.

In addition, a listening area has been set up, where customers can sit down in a chair and enjoy music.

Jonah Blacksmith to perform

Events are already being planned in the new space, and the extra room will be especially useful on April 18.

At 10:00, Jonah Blacksmith will stop by and perform acoustic songs from their new album Ages, which is being released on vinyl the same day.

A large turnout is expected, as Jonah Blacksmith already draws big crowds to Skovdalen when performing in Aalborg.

Lakridspizza has already gained strong popularity in Aalborg, and it wasn’t long ago that the store welcomed a very special guest.

An ordinary Saturday turned a bit more special when the door suddenly opened and Poul Krebs walked in.

“It was very casual—he was in town and just dropped by,” owner Jan told MigogAalborg.

Signed records sold quickly

The musician was in Aalborg for a concert at Musikkens Hus and stopped by the record store while in the city.

There, he signed the last copies of the album Fuldtidsforhåbninger, which, according to the store, had been difficult to obtain.

“Those two records were sold immediately,” Jan explained.

The visit was shared on Lakridspizza’s Facebook page with a photo and the caption: “Hey! Look who just stopped by.” The signed records were sold for 270 DKK each.

And there’s more in store for music lovers in Aalborg.

On April 10, the shop will be visited by Knægt, and on April 18—Record Store Day—Jonah Blacksmith will stop by at 10:00 to perform acoustic songs.
