Popular sushi spot reopens: New look in Aalborg

After three weeks of construction noise and closed doors, the sushi restaurant in downtown Aalborg is once again filled with light over its dining tables and bar.
The popular eatery has just reopened after a thorough renovation, and the first guests have already experienced the new surroundings.
The interior has been significantly transformed with a new floor, a new bar, and an overall lighter design.
Darker surfaces have been replaced in several areas with lighter materials and new lighting, making the space feel more open—especially during the day when the lunch service is in full swing.
Opened two years ago
Since opening two years ago, the restaurant has become a staple for Aalborg residents who can’t get enough of sushi.
The renovation is intended to enhance both functionality and atmosphere—without changing the concept that locals love.
The bar area has been optimized for busy evenings, and the interior now closely reflects the style of its sister restaurant, Catch Sushibar, which recently moved to larger premises.
The two restaurants still share guests, but Roku retains its own distinct character on Adelgade.
Capacity remains unchanged, with around 100 indoor seats and approximately 30 in the courtyard when the weather allows.
However, the surroundings have been tightened up, focusing on comfort, light, and interior details.
Roku Izakaya is now back in normal operation, and tables can once again be reserved for both lunch and dinner via the restaurant’s website.
