Aalborg Storcenter is strengthening its position as North Jutland’s largest shopping destination in the coming months.

A series of new store openings, major expansions, and upgrades to new retail concepts are set to attract more visitors while offering existing customers a broader selection of shopping and dining experiences.

Fashion, watches and Italian specialties move in

On 22 May, the watch retailer Ditur will open a physical store in the centre, taking over the former Hummel premises in Blå Gade.

Ditur, known as one of Scandinavia’s largest online retailers of watches and accessories, is now taking another step into physical retail, with the store expected to draw strong visitor interest from day one.

Meanwhile, the Swedish fashion chain Gina Tricot is also preparing to enter Aalborg Storcenter.

The brand will establish a new flagship store in the former Paw Sko location. The keys will be handed over on 1 May, with an opening scheduled for June.

The flagship store marks a significant upgrade for Gina Tricot in North Jutland and will showcase the chain’s latest retail concept.

New addition to the food court

On the food side, the offering is expanding with Doticelli, already known from central Aalborg for its Italian specialties.

Doticelli will become part of the centre’s food court, MadGaden, and is expected to open in June, giving visitors new culinary options to complement the existing selection.

Existing tenants expand and upgrade

At the same time, several current tenants are investing in larger spaces and updated store concepts.

The lingerie chain Hunkemöller is relocating to a larger unit in Blå Gade, with a reopening expected in June. Customers can look forward to the brand’s newest concept and a more inspiring store environment.

Matas is also expanding its store and upgrading to its latest concept, featuring a more modern layout and an increased focus on customer experience. The refurbished store is expected to reopen in September.

World’s largest store

The children’s clothing brand Name It is also raising its ambitions in Aalborg Storcenter.

The store will be expanded and upgraded to the newest concept and is set to become the world’s largest Name It store—surpassing even the recently opened location in Berlin.

In addition, the store will become a multibrand concept, offering a wider assortment and more choices for customers. The reopening is planned for June.

Strong confidence in the centre

According to Aalborg Storcenter’s management, the many investments are a clear sign that both new and existing brands see strong potential in the centre.

“We are very pleased with the development we are currently seeing in Aalborg Storcenter.

It is clear evidence that both new and existing brands have great confidence in the centre and its potential.

We are working strategically to create an even stronger experience for our visitors, and these new initiatives are an important step in that direction,” says Centre Manager Tom Dorf.

With the upcoming openings of Ditur, Gina Tricot and Doticelli, along with the reopening of Hunkemöller, Matas, and a significantly expanded Name It store, Aalborg Storcenter is cementing its role as a key shopping and meeting destination in North Jutland, offering an increasingly diverse retail and dining experience.
