by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

Visitors will once again be able to experience the cosy Christmas atmosphere of the world-famous park placed in the heart of Aalborg.

True to tradition, the Park of Music in Kildeparken will once again be transformed into a real Christmas wonderland with Christmas music and candles.

Marking the festive launch of the Park of (Christmas) Music on November 21 will be none other than the team behind Disco Tango: Annette Heick, Silas Holst, Lonnie Devantier, and Gry and Bryan Rice.

A visit to the Park of (Christmas) Music has become a holiday tradition for many. This year, in particular, the spacious outdoor event is a great opportunity to experience the cosy atmosphere of the Christmas park while catching some fresh air.

The Park of Music now consists of 95 trees planted by international artists. A total 60 of those artists has earlier produced Christmas music, and their individual trees will be decorated with Christmas decor and are set to play their respective Christmas songs.

Among the 60 artists are great singers such as Mariah Carey, Bryan Adams, Elton John, Sting, Shakin’ Stevens, and Katie Melua as well as groups such as Backstreet Boys and Il Divo, and comedians Michael McIntyre and Jeff Dunham.

Candles every Sunday of Advent

Aalborg Congress & Culture Center (AKKC) and Aalborg Municipality’s Parks and Nature department are turning up the dial on the Christmas atmosphere.

Every Advent Sunday when the sun sets and darkness falls, 300 candles will illuminate the Park of Music while the many well-known Christmas tunes will set the musical backdrop for a memorable Christmas sight.

For this year’s festive launch, Annette Heick, Silas Holst, Lonnie Devantier, and Gry and Bryan Rice will light Christmas lights, sing Christmas tunes, and switch on the park’s Christmas music.

The very same evening, the group takes the stage in Aalborghallen with their 5-star grand prix show, Disco Tango. Here, they will be performing the most popular Danish and international grand prix hits.

Due to COVID-19 and governmental restrictions on large gatherings, AKKC will not be giving an official timestamp for the launch. Instead, a video of the festive launch will be posted to their social media platforms and on their website.
