by Megan McPhee Christensen

Aalborg University (AAU) ranks as the best university in Europe in engineering.

This was stated by U.S. News & World Report, which has just published the rankings for “Best Global Universities.”

The university’s management is very happy about the news, which for the sixth year in a row, cements AAU’s position among the world’s elite in the field of engineering.

“Students and researchers at AAU work every single day to contribute with research that can help solve significant global challenges.

We can all be proud of that because the work and results reverberate worldwide. For the sixth year in a row, we can see that AAU’s research environment is among the world’s elite in engineering,” says Rector Per Michael Johansen.

World-class research environment

The ranking list, “Best Global Universities,” is based on 13 indicators that measure the university’s academic research results and its global and regional reputation.

These indicators have placed AAU in the top spot in Europe for six years in a row.

Beyond being ranked number 1 in Europe, AAU also assumes a respectable position on a global scale, being ranked number 11 for engineering overall.

In addition, for the third year in a row, AAU ranks on top in the category “Electrical and Electronic Engineering”, where the university is the best in Europe and is number five in the world.
