Snowfall starts today: North Jutland will get snow again

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

Just as we thought it was over, there’s a comeback of snow and cold.

In the coming week, the entire country will be hit by snowfall, and in certain areas, it could be quite substantial.

North Jutland, in particular, will not be spared and might be one of the areas most affected, according to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) on Sunday afternoon.

“It starts Monday evening. Most will just get rain, but those living in North Jutland will get snow, which can accumulate on the roads and cause traffic problems,” Lisette Grenbom, duty officer at DMI, says to Ekstra Bladet.

Weather surprise later in the week

In North Jutland, there will likely be between five and 15 centimeters of snow by Tuesday morning.

“So it lands right in Tuesday morning traffic,” she explains.

Later in the week, there seems to be a genuine weather surprise. DMI predicts that the entire country could be hit by massive snowfall.

But there is still uncertainty in the forecasts with six days to go.

TV 2 Vejret, however, reported Sunday afternoon on the forecasts with the headline “Massive Snowfall Heading Towards Denmark.”

Likely to cause traffic problems

“It is quite clear that a front with snow and wind is coming Friday night, which will bring snow during the day.

And it is widespread, so everyone will be affected. I would like to assert that we can also have traffic problems on this day.

It is clearly something that will cause problems for a lot of people,” Lisette Grenbom says to Ekstra Bladet.

Temperatures will also drop significantly below freezing, and we could reach minus 10 degrees on a few nights in the coming period.
