Spouse Space: Supporting expat partners in North Denmark
Moving to a new country can be a thrilling adventure, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges, especially for the spouses and partners of expatriates.
These individuals often find themselves in unfamiliar territory, struggling to establish connections, secure employment, and adapt to a new culture.
In North Denmark, the International House North Denmark offers a program called Spouse Space to address these challenges and provide vital support to expats’ spouses and partners.
Monthly meetings
Spouse Space is an initiative in North Denmark that is specifically tailored to the needs of expats’ spouses and partners.
Its core objective is to help with job search and create a welcoming and inclusive community where individuals can connect, share experiences, and access resources to make their transition to Denmark smoother and more fulfilling.
The cornerstone of Spouse Space is its monthly meetings, which are designed to be both informative and social.
These are usually divided into two halves. The first half is dedicated to focused discussions on various subjects of interest, such as employment opportunities, networking strategies, volunteer work, and even entrepreneurship.
This segment equips participants with valuable insights and practical knowledge to help them navigate life in North Denmark successfully.
The second half of the meetings shifts gears towards fostering social connections and networking. These moments are not just about making friends but also about building a support network that can prove invaluable in the expat journey.
