Sticchi’s reopens: Popular pizzeria returns at new location in Aalborg

A true comeback is in the making in Aalborg.

Sticchi’s—the iconic pizzeria that for years spoiled Aalborg locals with Neapolitan pizzas—is on its way back.

Antonio Sticchi confirms this exclusively to MigogAalborg.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he says.

The reopening will take place in the pizzeria’s familiar area in Vestbyen, but at a new address just under 250 metres closer to the city centre.

Restaurants swap locations

The new address will be Kastetvej 18, where work is currently underway to complete the final details.

The premises previously housed Vestbyen Pizza. But when Sticchi’s closed, Vestbyen Pizza took over Antonio’s former location—so now the two competing restaurants have effectively swapped places.

If everything goes according to plan, the first Sticchi’s pizzas could be served in around 10–15 days, though Antonio is not yet ready to confirm an exact opening date.

“We’re still missing the final pieces before everything is ready,” he says.

13 years of pizza

Since closing, Antonio has been working in fields completely unrelated to the restaurant industry, he tells MigogAalborg.

“But now I’m returning to my real profession,” he says.

And that’s something many people have been waiting for.

When Sticchi’s closed at the end of 2024 after 13 years in Vestbyen, both the pizzaiolo and many loyal customers were left with a lump in their throat.

Over the years, the place had built up an almost cult-like status—not least for its authentic Neapolitan pizzas.

At the time, however, hope was not lost—quite the opposite.

Antonio told MigogAalborg that he dreamed of reopening, preferably in Vestbyen. But finding the right location proved difficult, and the perfect match took time.

Now, the wait is over.

With a new address in the same neighbourhood, Sticchi’s is ready to reunite with its “kammarater”—as Antonio calls his guests—and continue where it left off.
