Expanding in Aalborg: Announces opening date for another Subway
The Finnish company Nordic Bites Group Oy has taken over the rights to operate and develop the American brand in Denmark – just as they hold the rights in Finland, Sweden, and Norway.
By 2032, more than 60 restaurants are set to open on Danish soil.
In addition to the restaurant on Østerågade, there will also be a Subway in Aalborg Storcenter, which opens on November 24.
Nordic Bites Group operates nearly 200 Subway® restaurants in Finland, over 100 in Sweden, and around 50 in Norway.
Expanding in Aalborg
Together with the Finnish private equity investor Juuri Partners Oy as a partner in the expansion of Subway®, at least 250 new restaurants will be opened across the Nordics.
Leading the Danish part of the project is Nordic Bites Group Oy’s Danish Country Manager, Dorte Gleie, who has been looking forward to bringing the Subway® brand back to Aalborg.
“We are confident that Subway® will be a popular addition to the fast-food offering in Aalborg.
We have launched a new beginning for the brand in Denmark, and Nordic Bites Group Oy’s expertise combined with the strong Subway® concept provides the perfect foundation to get off to a great start.
Not just in Aalborg, but also in the many other locations where we will be opening new restaurants in the coming years,” says Dorte Gleie.
A more digital experience
A couple of weeks ago, the first new Subway® was inaugurated in Amager Center in Copenhagen, and ahead of that opening it was announced that Fields on Amager as well as Randers, Ishøj, Glostrup, Lyngby, and of course Aalborg would also get a Subway® within the next six months.
The new Subway® restaurants will feature the brand’s newly launched Fast Forward 2.0 design, with a strong focus on the digital guest experience.
Guests will now be able to order their food from self-service kiosks in the restaurants, helping them avoid queues and reduce waiting times.
The kiosks are designed to create an improved guest experience, and Nordic Bites Group will continuously roll out new digital initiatives in the restaurants to make it simple for guests to order freshly made subs, wraps, and salads.
