From screen to stage: Ternet Ninja becomes a major musical in Aalborg

After a string of hit musicals at AKKC such as Askepot – The Musical, Bodyguard – The Musical, Beauty & the Beast, and many more, Lion Musicals is now ready to take Aalborg by storm with an entirely new production in their usual professional style.
This time, Denmark’s very own checkered ninja takes the stage in a performance that combines acting, music, stand-up, and spectacular martial arts choreography in a fast-paced stage show.
From June 16 to 20, 2027, the show will run six times at AKKC’s Aalborghallen, where audiences can experience the checkered ninja in full size—alive and in the middle of a spectacular performance packed with music, action, and humor.
Like the previous musical successes Terkel – The Motherfårking Musical and NATASJA, Ternet Ninja Live is created by Lion Musicals in collaboration with Clemens Telling, who wrote the script and developed the concept.
Familiar characters and hit songs
The North Jutland audience can look forward to a reunion with the beloved cast of characters: Aske and the checkered ninja, Jessica who’s done being a pageant girl, Glenn who long ago should have had a support teacher, Sune, who is still… well, Sune.
And of course Stewart Stardust, who never shakes his hands as long as his glass is full. Last but not least, Mie and Fie, Arne Nougatgren, Philip Eberfrø, stepfather Jørn, and many, many more also make an appearance.
The musical also features several of Anders Matthesen’s popular songs from the films, including “Pesto,” “Jessica’s Song,” and “Verdens bedste,” along with entirely new music written by Clemens Telling in collaboration with film composer Thomas Volmer.
The story begins with a birthday gift
The tale starts when Aske receives a seemingly innocent ninja plush toy from his uncle Stewart for his birthday. But when night falls, Aske discovers that the toy can talk, move… and fight.
Suddenly, he has an unexpected ally in the battle against schoolyard bullies, annoying step-siblings, and life’s small injustices. The only problem is that the checkered ninja isn’t afraid to take the fight a little further than most might consider reasonable.
A strong team behind the show
The musical is brought to life by some of Denmark’s most prominent theater talents. Clemens Telling created the script and concept, Sargun Oshana directs, choreography is handled by award-winning Steen Koerner, and stage design is by Benjamin La Cour, who has worked on several of the country’s biggest musicals.
The result is a visually, physically, and musically engaging production where ninja action, humor, and familiar songs merge into a show suitable for the whole family.
Tickets for Ternet Ninja Live, June 16–20, 2027, at AKKC/Aalborghallen go on sale Wednesday, April 1 at 10:00. They can be purchased via akkc.dk
