Up to 35 mm: DMI issues heavy rain warning for Aalborg

Whether you’re planning to go to a restaurant, hit the town in Aalborg tonight, or do something else entirely, it’s a good idea to be extra cautious this evening.
The Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI) has just issued a warning for the risk of heavy rain.
In Aalborg, the warning is in effect from Friday at 20:00 to Saturday at 20:00.
“There is a risk of heavy rain, with local amounts between 25 and 35 mm in 6 hours,” they warn.
Why the rain is coming
A low-pressure system just northwest of the British Isles is slowly moving southward over the next day. The fronts associated with this low-pressure system will bring rain to Denmark at times.
During the evening and night, an area of heavier rain will move over the country from the southwest. It is increasingly likely that locally heavy rain may occur, especially in the western part of the country.
For rain to be classified as heavy, the amount must exceed 24 mm in 6 hours, or more than 30 mm must fall during the entire warning period.
As of Friday morning, weather forecasts suggest that from this evening until Saturday evening, localized rainfall amounts between 25-35 mm may occur in the warned area.
