Wants to increase the pressure on politicians: Big Climate March to take place in Aalborg

by Nathalia Hentze Nielsen

On Sunday, October 30th, a large climate march will take place when citizens of all ages fill the streets nationwide.

Their aim is to call out politicians and push climate concerns to the top of the agenda.

The march – called Folkets Klimamarch (The People’s Climate March) – takes place in Aalborg from 13:00 to 15:30 on Gabels Torv.

“It’s happening in connection to the election, which is a historically important election for the climate.

The global CO2 emissions are peaking in 2025 at the latest if we are to have any hope that we can avoid the largest consequences of the climate crisis.

That is why the next period of government will play an all-important role to ensure that Denmark will reach our climate ambitions.

The People’s Climate March is probably the biggest event this fall when we talk of climate. It’s insanely important that as many citizens as possible join together in the streets because that will increase the pressure on politicians,” Maja Christensen, active member of the Green Youth Movement in Aalborg, says.

During the march, there’ll be music, booths, speeches, coffee and cake on Gabels Torv. Everyone will gather on the square and walk through the city with banners and chants.

The organizers of the march is an association of green organizations in Aalborg.
