We’ve tested it: Burger Bar introduces plant-based burger
Burger Boom has been crowned the “City’s Best Burger” at the Aalborg Awards year after year. It’s no coincidence – they truly deserve it.
Aalborg locals are CRAZY about those greasy burgers, and our editorial team couldn’t agree more!
Burger Boom’s main focus lies in the quality of its meat, sourced from free-range forest cattle. Their patties are famous for their tenderness and mouthwatering grill flavour.
However, Burger Boom is now introducing a vegan burger with a plant-based patty, vegan mayo, and a gluten-free and vegan bun.
Of course, we had to try it out and see if it could live up to the high standards we know Burger Boom for.
Grill flavour to the max
You’d never guess it wasn’t a meat patty if it weren’t for the texture.
It’s firmer, but its grilled exterior makes it blend in almost too well among the legendary beef patties that we all know and love Burger Boom for.
You’d never guess it’s vegan – the patty’s similarity in both looks and flavour is striking.
The patty is made purely from pea protein.
The smoky grilled flavour is outstanding. The three different dressings take it to a whole other level. Brace yourself for the juices – and keep those napkins handy!
They’ve been very generous with the dressing. It’s loaded with vegan mayo, ketchup, and mustard.
Despite being gluten-free, Burger Boom has achieved a delightfully soft and airy texture for their buns.
The bun’s surprising height might be a mouthful, but it certainly holds its own as a gluten-free choice.
Burger Boom’s heavenly, gluten-rich bun is still our first love. However, we were won over by the gluten-free alternative, despite our initial doubts.
The patty rests on a bed of crisp organic salad, and the toppings include red onions, tomatoes, and homemade pickles.
Dip ad libitum
Burger Boom’s menu includes a vegetarian burger as well. It offers almost the same as the vegan option. The difference lies in the regular mayo and the renowned bun, which sets it apart from the other burgers on the menu.
We opted for takeout, but if you have a moment to spare, we strongly suggest treating yourself to some fries with your burger.
They are topped with parmesan and thyme, and are delightfully crispy.
As usual, Burger Boom offers a selection of free dipping sauces for your fries. Enjoy dipping your fries in tarragon, garlic, chilli, and the ultimate favourite… truffle mayo.
Burger Boom is open all days 11:00 – 21:00.Find the complete menu here and use this link to order.
